Review of Bella Italia by Colleen Fahey

When you need a taste of authentic Italian cuisine look no further than the Bella Italia Restaurant. The Bella Italia offers a fresh taste of Italy in a fun, intimate, and friendly atmosphere.
As soon as we walked through the door, my friends and I were seated in a timely manner and were quickly greeted by the restaurants excellent wait staff. The service we received made the experience even better. The wait staff was always checking on us, brought our food over in a timely manner, and always made sure we were having a good time.
What was better than the service was the food itself. The combination of traditional Italian flavors scream off your plate. You can’t go wrong in choosing one of their specialty pastas; each prepared with the restaurants own custom-made sauces. From the Penne Luna Rossa to the Eggplant Parmesan, each plate gives you a simple, fresh taste that made the meal delectable. You also get a wide selection of tasty Italian wines to go with your meal all for a reasonable price.
The restaurant itself is quite small and the color concepts are questionable to real Italian design. The only thing that was questionable was the type of dining furniture they have selected for the room. They have hard wood chairs that made it uncomfortable to sit on. We sat by a beautiful fireplace that created a warm environment for my group to relax. Their food and wine selection definitely makes up for the lack of space.
Bella Italia is located on 22 Pondview Place in Tyngsboro, MA and just 10 minutes away from Nashua, NH. This restaurant brings comfort and taste to every dish. With the vast range of food chains around the area, Bella Italia holds their own when it comes to their genuine Italian cuisine.  It is definitely a place worth trying.

TMI: Is The Internet Color Blind? by Colleen Fahey

I enjoyed reading Courtney Marshall’s article “Is the Internet Colorblind?” The main point of this article is clearly stated where Courtney Marshall quotes “As we dialogue about what “too much information” means, let’s ask the following questions: Does having an abundance of information about race, gender, and sexuality change the decisions we make about their importance?” This article makes you consider how cyberspace affects people’s social behavior globally and locally through email, text, Facebook and Myspace. The internet has made clear path for people to create their own identities and not be judged by race, color or gender. People use the internet as their escape from reality. Unfortunately, now that the internet is free to everyone there has been issues where people’s social status can be changed dramatically due to the amount of information people put on the internet. This goes back to the question of TMI (too much information). Technology plays a big part in people’s identities whether they like it or not. People have to make the responsible decision on how they express themselves on the internet and what they put on the internet. Internet colorblindness has moved in another direction and there are no restrictions. This article expresses the concern with too much information and how it can harm people. We hear the stories of how there is now cyber bullying, or people can “blackmail” others from images or information found on the internet. What Courtney Marshall wants us to get out of this article is to be compassionate to others and not let any judgment pass of people from different races or gender due to how they are perceived on the internet. With too much information out there, how do we depict a person by character instead of race?

The book “On Writing” by Steven King is a good resourceful book that I think everyone should read. I agree with his ideas on writing and believe it can benefit all writers. I wasn’t that surprised when King would say you need to read more to improve your writing. Everyone has different techniques of writing and brings something new on the table. It’s good to look at other people’s writing to inspire your own creative writing. I personally lack in experience with writing and I constantly get writers block when starting a paper for school. King gave good tip on how to start a paper and how to thoroughly critique it and make changes. If you are really interested in writing you should read this book. Take advice from a pro!

Hello, my name is Helen by Colleen Fahey

The beautiful girl was destined for greatness. She gazed at herself in the mirror and loved what she saw. But the question, of course, was “was he going to like what he saw” she could never tell that answer because she had never seen the man before. She knew not what his life was like, she knew not what thoughts flew within the confides of his mind, and she knew not what so delicately tantalized the depths of his mind.

Still, she went on guessing. She kept on looking through herself in the mirror to find out if she could impress him enough to gain his trust, to gain his love. She has so long desired the love of someone wonderful in her life. She fights for it every day. Each man who passes, she places the extra glance towards him to see if she can receive the simplicity or a complicated smile.

In her room she is now, a blind date awaits. Dress after dress crosses over her neatly fixed hair. The woman simply cannot decide which of her most wonderful outfits will so impress this man. One dress turned into ten dresses which turned into one hundred dresses. The indecisiveness of her heart was hard to tame. At the end of it all, the woman picked her thirty seven favorite dresses and somehow, someway fit them all over her petite delicate body.

She walked the long nervous walk all the way to the restaurant where the two newly love birds were to meet. The woman’s heart was racing, her skin went pale, and butterflies flapped inside her belly as if they were trying to escape her fear. Step after step the woman continued on her way. What will he look like she said, what shall I say when I arrive? She practiced over and over again, hello my name is, hello my name is… hello my name is. The practice began to make her nervousness subside; the butterflies began to settle themselves in a comfortable position. The skin however, would never return to its normal state. The man was not there at the restaurant. She walked up the hill to go home. There was no chance for love this night, there was no chance for happiness, and there was no chance to use the phrase which she had practiced hundreds of times. Hello, my name is Helen.
